This year's theme was "How Can Social Media Influence Peace and
Conflict?"  The purpose of the contest is to encourage our youth to look
at our Country’s issues and assist them in becoming our leaders of the
future.

The essay contest was open to public, private and home-schooled high
school students in grades 9-12 in the Seacoast area.  Cash prizes:  $250
for 1st place, $150 for 2nd place and $100 for honorable mention.

The judging criteria was based on format, grammar, originality of thought,
clarity of thought, style and expression.  A panel of three SRW members
judged the entries.  Special thanks to Cindy Blodgett for coordinating the
contest this year.
